The Not-so-Great

Ruler Reign Known For

Queen Morag

1686-1685 BGC

Petty, jealous, and some say insane, she declared disastrous war against The Hidden Kingdom, dooming hundreds of thousands, herself dying to an assassin's blade.

King Brescal

1250-1222 BGC

A tyrannical monster, known for violent and hedonistic excess; initiated the Great Games of Slaughter. Executed hundreds of lords for trumped-up charges of treason. Repelled dozens of assassination attempts; died in his sleep.

Emperor Vilintius

244-249 GC

Would-be harbinger of an age of imperialism. Restructured the government around Ascadian ideals; despite rollbacks, many such changes still have impact today.

King Morne

349-349 GC

Reigned for less than 8 weeks, and in that time detonated the Essentia Bomb and incensed the race of Dragons, intensifying the Dragons' War and permanently empowering the Blue Dragonflight with the gift of magic.

The Bizarre

Ruler Reign Known For

Queen Atree

1707-1697 BGC

Claimed to be a "fairy". Refused to live in the Iron Palace and had it dismantled; built the House of Glass and Lights, by all accounts an architectural marvel. Sadly, it was destroyed shortly after the royal family moved in, collapsing under their weight. Many strange events were attributed to her "fairy magic", including (by contemporary accounts) instances of sudden gender-switching, false memory implantation, and long stretches of time nobody could account for.

King Malamant

1102-1099 BGC

Born disfigured, he nonetheless rose to become King of the Sword. Some contemporary accounts list numerous laudable accomplishments during his short tenure, including the construction of the Ardent Tower; tales speak of how he was betrayed by his brother, a vain and jealous man unable to see past Malamant's twisted form.

The Answerer

1020-1013 BGC

Though few today can believe it, the lore speaks plainly of an unknown person, always swathed in robes, with an eerie, gender-neutral voice. The Answerer, as it insisted upon being addressed, was possessed of unearthly wisdom, granting tremendous insight, particularly in matters of engineering, medicine, and the various sciences. The Answerer did not die, but rather vanished without a trace exactly seven years after taking up the sword, as prophesied on its first day.
